Biography
I am currently a PhD student in computer science department of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), supervised by Professor Klara Nahrstedt. My research interests include multimedia applications and distributed system. I'm a member of the MONET group and TEEVE project. My current research is to explore the multi-modality in 3D tele-immersive system. Before coming to UIUC, I was a research assistant in Multimedia Technology Research Center (MTREC) of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, working with Professor S.-H. Gary Chan in department of computer Science and engineering. My research focused on the optimization problems which arise from Multimedia applications (e.g. P2P live streaming and P2P VoD) and wireless networks. I received BSc in physics and computer science (1st class honor) and MPhil in computer science and engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, in 2009 and 2010, respectively. In fall 2008, I went to Georgia Institute of Technology (GIT) as an exchange student. I served as an engineering trainee in the internship program at Altai Technology in the summer of 2009. I attended the China National Physics Olympics Competition (CPhO) and was the first prize winner of Hunan Province in 2004. | XIA Pengye Henry 夏鹏晔
